Here I will teach you how to repair/Format windows XP without needing to reinstalling your previously installed drivers and softwares.

Preferably, it should be a Windows XP service pack 2.

Insert the disc into the drive and boot from it, If it does not boot, you may need to change the boot preference order from the BIOS.

After loading all files, it will ask

"Press Enter to install windows"

"Press R to repair windows with recovery console" - Don't Choose this option as it need a recovery disc, i.e., a floppy generally.

Instead press Enter to go to the first option.

Now, It will ask you whether you want a fresh copy of windows, or want to repair.

Press R now to repair.

The setup will delete your existing windows and reinstall a new windows without deleating your softwares, files and settings.

Plus point is that you get more space on HD after repairing.

Note; if you are using Vista with XP, Vista may not load after reinstalling.

To solve this problem, you have to boot from vista disc and repair for startup problems.

It won't take time, as it takes in Xp.
